There are a number of differences between conservation districts and historic districts.  Generally speaking, historic districts have more complex and restrictive requirements than do conservation districts.  In addition, unlike residents in historic districts, residents in conservation districts get to decide what to put in the ordinance.  We as a community decide what we want to conserve.

Below is a summary of the differences between conservation districts and historic districts:
